When a water service line starts giving trouble, ignoring it just makes things worse. Low pressure, soggy spots in the yard, unexplained spikes in your water bill - these are all signs the line running from your meter to your building is on its way out. That's exactly the situation we were called in to handle here.

We replaced a 1-inch water service line from the meter all the way to the building. The old line was done. Rather than patch it and hope for the best, we pulled it out and started fresh with a proper poly pipe replacement. For the transitions - where the poly meets the copper - we used socket fusion fittings. That method creates a bond that's extremely strong and far more reliable than mechanical connections, which can loosen and fail over time underground where you can't see them.

The entry point into the building is where a lot of installs get sloppy. We didn't cut corners there. The copper stub-up coming through the foundation was plumbed cleanly and tied into a full valve and pressure regulator setup on the exterior wall. That means the homeowner now has easy shutoff access and protected water pressure entering the building - two things that matter a lot down the road.

The whole point of a water service replacement is that you shouldn't have to think about it again for decades. Using quality materials and solid connection methods is how we get there. A bad weld or a cheap fitting underground becomes a very expensive problem later. We'd rather do it right once.
