Sometimes a washer drain just isn't routed the way it should be. Whether it was done as a quick fix years ago or never set up correctly from the start, a bad drain line is one of those things that quietly causes problems - slow drains, backups, water where it shouldn't be. That's exactly what we were dealing with here.

We rerouted the drain line using 2-inch ABS pipe and fittings. ABS is a solid, durable material built for exactly this kind of drain work - it handles the volume a washing machine pushes out, resists corrosion, and holds up for the long haul. The reroute follows a clean path that gives the water somewhere to go without fighting the line the whole way.

Inside the wall, we also set up a proper washer box with hot and cold supply valves - the red and blue handles you'd expect - along with braided steel supply lines. It's a complete, code-friendly setup. Nothing cobbled together, nothing that's going to give the next owner a headache down the road.

Outside, the new 2-inch ABS line runs through a cleanly trenched path along the exterior of the home. The pipe is laid with the right bends to connect everything up properly. It's not glamorous work, but done right, it's the kind of thing you never have to think about again. That's the goal.

Drain line reroutes like this one aren't complicated in the right hands - but cutting corners on the pipe size, the fittings, or the slope of the line creates problems fast. We take that stuff seriously. Serving Whittier and the surrounding areas, this is the kind of solid, straightforward plumbing work we do every day.
